Last night we had the privileged of awarding two very deserving young people with the first iteration of the Nahom Berhane Scholarship for leadership and inclusion. The award ceremony was held during the Access Alliance Annual General Meeting, and along with Nahom’s Family, the honourable Minister Albanese was present to congratulate the award recipients for their hard work and dedication to their communities.
This award presentation was only the first in many to come, and we would like to thank everyone–community members, donors, public officials, staff and friends–who came out to support the scholarship initiative, and support young people in the community. The night was special because you were there!
But, our work is not done….
We’ve come a long way since the scholarship initiative was first conceived, and have hit many meaningful milestones, including surpassing the %50 mark on our $100,000 goal. To ensure that we are able to provide this scholarship to deserving young people for the next 10 years, we need to press on!
Please share the Nahom Scholarship website and Nahom’s story with anyone that may have had a connection with him, or that wants to help our young leaders achieve their full potential. We know that our goal is not insurmountable, and with your help we will achieve it.
Keep up to date with the Scholarship Initiative and check back often. We’ll soon be accepting applications for the 2017 Scholarship!
